It’s September already – wow! Our kids are back to school today and we are all ready to start butchering again tomorrow. It’s a bit miserable outside so perfect for a lovely, comforting autumnal sausage & mash, toad in the hole or a delicious pork roast dinner this Sunday!
This week’s sausage flavours are: Traditional Pork, Pork & Herb, Cumberland Rings, Pork & Leek, Beer Bangers. Some other flavours available frozen.
Home dry cured bacon (unsmoked and smoked), gammon slices and joints, roasting joints – loin, leg, shoulder, belly. Chops, steaks, ribs, fillet, meatballs, Stornoway black pudding, mince, sausage rolls, ham. Frozen Powell’s pork pies, local honey, apple juice.
During our break we visited Hawkshead and we have introduced a few new lines which go really nicely with our meat, particularly the “Hedgerow & Port Jelly” which pairs beautifully with roast pork. Or why not try stirring some Red Onion Marmalade into your gravy to make a quick, easy and very delicious onion gravy for your bangers and mash?
We are open as usual Friday and Saturday morning 9:00 – 13:00. Please remember your mask and sanitise your hands on your way in. If you can’t make it to the shop, we can bring it to you!! Free local deliveries (minimum order £15) available on Thursday. If you are in quarantine we can leave your meat on the doorstep and you can do a bank transfer, not a problem.
